Abstract:
Education plays an important role in the development of a society and, within this context integral education has become a current theme in educational debates, making use of innovative procedures and methodologies. In this perspective, the government of the State of Paraíba created, in 2016, the integral education program, focusing on the student's life project and its preparation for the labor market. Thus, the present research sought, as a general objective, to evaluate whether the program integral education implemented in state high schools caused advances for the quality of education in the State of Paraíba. Through the specific objectives, was obtained the analysis of of school progress has been obtained, the school dropout rate and the acceptance of the Integral Schools of Technical Citizenship of the State of Paraíba between the period preceding the program and after its implementation. Thus, the current descriptive quantitative research was carried out in state schools that offer high school in the State of Paraíba, between the period 2015 to 2018, and the data for evaluation were collected through national indicators of education of the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira - INEP. From the data presented, progress of students who have achieved an increase in the approval rating can be evidenced, in addition to the reduction of school leaving and the increase in demand for technical integral citizen schools.
