Résumé:
The use of natural products as alternative therapy for some diseases and diseases has been widely adopted by the various health professionals, mainly due to the fact that they present active pharmacological characteristics that are easily accessible and well accepted by the community at large. Apiculture products, such as propolis, have gained prominence in their composition, phenolic compounds that have an active role against agents that cause infections and diseases, whether caused by fungi or bacteria, among others. This study aimed to understand the action of alpine products applied to the treatment of oral diseases. For this, an explanatory research was carried out from a bibliographical study, using for the theoretical basis academic works published in the last ten years and available in the database of Google Scholar. The study showed that the products extracted or produced by bees possess properties that allow the treatment of oral diseases, with propolis as the most effective, being used in the reduction of bacterial plaque and preventing caries, for presenting action against Streptococcus mutans and, honey from bees, which has been applied as an antifungal agent in the treatment of canker sores and mouth ulcers. Alpine products have an effective action against oral diseases and there is a need to expand studies to isolate pharmacologically active compounds and to define the concentration to be administered for each disease, thus increasing the possibility of natural treatments for effective oral health.
