This study aimed to evaluate the Management of Urban Solid Waste and the resulting adverse social-environmental impacts in municipalities of the Rio do Peixe Basin, located in the state of Paraíba, Brazil. The research was developed from 2017 until August 2018. The municipalities studied were: Poço Dantas, Joca Claudino, Bernardino Batista, Poço José de Moura and Uiraúna. In the execution of the study, a simplified environmental diagnosis and a diagnosis of Urban Solid Waste Management were made in the municipalities of the study area. The obstacles faced by managers regarding waste management in each municipality were diagnosed. The activities, aspects and adverse social -environmental impacts of Urban Solid Waste Management were identified. To identify aspects and impacts, the methods of Environmental Impact Assessment were used: Ad Hoc, Check Lists and Interaction Matrix. According to the results, four (4) activities waste management were identified, especially the municipality of Poço Dantas, in which identified the largest number of significant impacts. It was found that there are difficulties in waste management in all municipalities of the study area and that some of the stages of waste management have significantly contributed to environmental degradation in the study area, with negative reflexes on production agro-industrial in the region.
