Résumé:
The research aims to analyze, through the memory of citizens of Aurora - Ceará the
representations around Maria da Soledade Landim, codenamed Marica Macêdo, whose life
story became evident in the first quarter of the twentieth century (1908-1924). , period in
which it gained notoriety after the Taveira Fire (revolt that took place in Aurora - Ceará), until
his death. In this period the female figure was excluded from the public space, roles of men
and women were well defined, but the character crossed barriers and stood out among leaders.
I seek to understand how is in the memory of the Aurorans their history of women, which as
the literature with which we talk, broke paradigms imposed by patriarchal society, faced or
making alliances with great politicians of the region of Cariri Cearense. As a methodological
route, we resorted to oral history procedures in recording interviews. The theoretical
perspective is inserted in the field of Social and Cultural History, also dialoguing with History
and Gender.
