Abstract:
The increasing purchase of milk by the state and the federal laws of milk production are making producers to rethink about the way of productlon. This research has as objective to diagnose the bovine milk production at São José de Piranhas - PB, where a experience was made by applying a default questionnaire, with 10 questions about the producer's literacy, herd área's structure, animal nutrition, health and
reproductlon, at 10 properties (small, medium and big sizes). After collecting data, they were submitted and evaluated by a descriptive qualitative analysis and a comparison of the production's systems adopted at properties. The schooling levei of most of the producers is complete fundamental levei (40%). At evaluated properties installations there isn't any milking room. All the properties have storage sheds for
inputs, agriculturas implements and ration. The most used roughage was the elephant grass (30%). Sadness parasite and other diseases almost didn't affect the herd. Cows with a better lactation are following the patterns, as all the properties have instructed people to take care of them. It was possible to note that the milk production chain at São José de Piranhas is disorganized, se that's necessary a big change in culture and conduct of the milk producers at the city of São José de Piranhas-PB.
