Abstract:
The present work uses the modeling and simulation of processes as a tool that allows the prediction of optimal operational conditions and the simulation of equipment without affecting the operation of the process, in order to develop the mathematical modeling of a fermentation reaction, transformation of glucose to ethanol conducted in to a batch reactor and simulate its behavior in a computational environment. Having as applied methodology, the use of phenomenological models that describe the behavior of a fermentation reaction in a discontinuous reactor, simulating the model developed in a chemical and biochemical process software, to analyze the their results and compare them with those arranged in the literature. The results obtained were in accordance with those arranged in the literature, once the simulation of the process began in the software used, the variables of interest behaved in an effective way, being possible to visualize in real time its reactional process. Although the results obtained were efficient to achieve the objective under study and are in accordance with the literature, it is an initial study.
