Resumen:
When transmission line circuits run close to each other, there might be
strong coupling effects among the lines due to magnetic, electrostatic and transposition schemes. This work presents a simple method to obtain a single-section multiphased picircuit that takes these effects into account. The resulting circuit is obtained from node reduction of several cascaded pi-circuits, each one representing the section of the lines in between transposition towers. The cascaded pi-circuit parameters can be obtained with any version of the EMTP (Electromagnetic Transients Program). Symmetrical component
technique is applied to the resulting circuit to obtain the equivalent positive sequence coupled circuits suitable to represent the transmission lines in power flow studies. A power flow case study, in which two transmission lines are running at the same tower, is
presented. It is shown that the reactive power in one bus is strongly affected by the coupling between the two transmission lines.
