Resumo:
In the producing regions has been frequent the search for cultivating of castor bean
more productive. The, purpose of this study was to evaluate the behavior of castor
bean cultivars, in isolated and intercropped in the Pombal-PB. The experiment was
installed in the Monte Alegre farm. The experimental design was arranged in the
randomized block in the factorial 2 x 3 + 1. being 2 to cultivate (BRS Energia and
BRS Nordestina) and 3 systems of management (single ones and intercrop with 2 or
3 rows of cowpea) and a with cowpea in single ones, with 4 replication. The number
of internodesl height of insertion of lo raceme; no. of racemes/planta production/planta
productivityl and length, mass and no. of fruits/racemes, was evaluated. In the
cowpea the productivity was evaluated. The data had been submitted to the analysis
of the variance (test F) and the averages compared for the test of Tukey (p= 0,05). It
was calculated the land equivalent ratio (LER) and the correlation between the
evaluated characteristics. The Energia presented greater no. of racemes/plant and
greater productivity in all the systems. But, for the calculation of the LER, the
Nordestina have an adaptation to the intercrop. In the intercrop prioritized to cultivars
of average cycle, and in single ones to early and of short cycle cultivars as the
Energia. For the productivities the cv. Energia presented best adaptation on the
cultivate conditions, especially in single ones.
