Abstract

The present thesis intends to describe and discuss the results of a pressuremeter series of tests (60 tests) performed in five sand deposite in Joao Pessoa - Paraiba. In this research were analyzed the behaviour of the resistence and deformability parameters obtained through pressuremeter tests, and after ward these results were compared to those obtained through SPT tests. Finally, it was observed that for sand subsoils, pressuremeter tests with the use of Menard pressuremeter were satisfactory and presented a short time response.
