Resumo:
This study aimed a soir ant's survey of the 'caatinga' in Paraíba State, in Pombal
city, to compare ant's biodiversity in three áreas (área deforested, área cleared and
burned and algo a native vegetation aea). For the ant collection, we used pjtfall,
which is a trap for soil insect collection, which were installed in an área of 900m2 (for
each study área) spaced by 10m. totaling mne traps per field. Samples were
collected weekly for three months. A total of 32 ant species were collected. among
this 40.6% Myrmicinae, 28.1% Formicinae, 12.5% Dolichoderinae, 9.4%
Pseudomyrmicinae, and 6.3% and 3.1% Ponerinae and Ecitoninae respectively. It
was observed that the greatest species number that occurred in the área was cleared
and burned (29 species), followed by native vegetation (20 species) and the cleared
área(1 7 species). The species So/enopsé g/oóu/ada, Do/ymyrmex fhorac/cus,
Pheidole radoszkowskii. Cyphomymtex peltatus, Pheidole rufipilis arte Camponotus
crassos occur frequently in all áreas studied. Among the most common species, D.
fhoracicus and Ca. crassus, that occur in all áreas sampled, are considered
indicators of degradated environment. This work enabled the üirst report of anta
species in the region, this algo detemlinate occurrence of degradate environment
indicator ant species in study áreas, and this will use as a starting point for further
studies on detemlining the integrity of the environments of the region.
