Resumo:
The castor bean it is an oleaginous plant with high potential for the cosmetics
industry. pharmaceutical and now a new alternative for the biodiesel industry. The
objective of this study was to evaluate the behavior of six genotypes of castor beans
having the point to identify the materiais with adaptation to micro region of Sousa-PB.
It has been studied the lineages CNPAM 2001- 42, CNPAM 2001 -- 48, CNPAM 2001
- 49, CNPAM 2009 - 7, CNPAM 2009 - 8 and the BRS Energia cultivated variety.
The study was conducted in the experimental área at IFPB Campus Sousa, in São
Gonçalo. The experimental design used was the ramdomized block with four
repetition and the experimental plots consisting of ten plants spaced of Im x Im
Were evaluated the characters days to flowering of the primary raceme (DF)l number
of stem nodes (NN); stem height (AC); stem diameter (DC); plant height (AP); total
length of the primary raceme (TT)l useful length of the primary raceme ((TU)l number
of branches per plant(NRPP)l number of raceme per plant(NR), yield(kg/ha)(RD);
seed oil content (TO). There was a significant difference at 1% probability by F test
for the characters analyzed. The average days to flowering (DF) was 51,9, the
lineageCNPAM 2009 - 8 was the material later (92 days) compared to the rest
lineage ranged from 41,5 to 46 days. The greatest total length of primary raceme
corresponded to BRS Energia and CNPAM 2009 -- 8. The number of racemes (NR)
ranged from 2,19 in lineage CNPAM 2009 -- 8 to 20,57 in CNPAM 2001 -- 49. The
yield ranged from 242,38 to 2264,28 kg/ha with featured to the lineages CNPAM
2001 - 42 and CNPAM 2001 - 48 which one were of higher productivity. The oil
content of seeds of the genotypes had a ranged from 48.15% to 53,6% and average
about 52,02%. These results allowed identifying genotypes with good potential for
cultivation on the conditions of microrregion Sousa - Paraíba.
