Resumo:
The Jatropha {Jatropha curcas L.) plant trees, oilseed, belonging to the family of
Euphorbia probably originated in South America, is regarded as an important alternative
for the supply of oil in biodiesel production programs in several countries, including
Brazil. This culture can develop in the region of northeastern Brazil that normally has a
water deficit. Therefore, the reuse of water, becomes fundamental. Having an entire
interest in the production of this crop, with the use of such water for irrigation, reducing
environmental impacts and competition with the drinking water. The objective of study
and quantify the effects of isolated and joint wastewater applied and the nitrogen levels
through the castor bean meal on growth, development and production of jatropha plants.
The experiment was conducted at ambient conditions in PROSAB - Campina Grande,
PB. The experimental design was completely randomized blocks, with fourteen
treatments, distribution factorial 2 x 4 + 6, with two types of water, wastewater and
water supply in four doses of castor bean meal, distributed in 50, 100, 150 and 200 kg N
ha"1, and the witnesses (NPK + water supply, wastewater + NPK, NPK + micronutrients
with water supply, NPK + micronutrients with wastewater, water supply witness and the
witness with wastewater) in four repetitions. It was found that the factors studied, the
wastewater rich in nutrients essential for growth and development of plants, provided
better significant effects of nutrition of jatropha.
