Currently, with the emergence of water scarcity and pollution related problems in big cities,
started increased interest from various economic sectors on water inilization, which is also
motivated by recent federal and state policies about the water management resources. In
Brazil have been studying for a couple years some integration models for generation and
aggregation of income. This study aimed to develop reuse strategies for using aquaculture
water in fertirrgation of FHIA 18 banana crop. This research was conducted in EMBRAPA
Meio Norte experimental area in Santa Rosa in the State of Piaui. The fish species was the
Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), from chitrala, and the vegetable species was the FHIA
18 banana. The storage density was 3 fishes per cubic meter water for the second cycle of
banana. For the third cycle the storage density was 2 fishes per cubic meter, both during 145
days cycle. The factors studied were two. The first factor was the evapotranspiration of 6
water depths with 25, 50, 75,100,125 and 150% using the Penman Monteith method from a
automatic meteorological station model Metus Compact from Metus. The second factor was
the economic viability of cultivation of FHIA 18 banana and the Nile Tilapia with the same
water. For the water dephts, growth rates and production components of banana estimated an
ideal interval for good production. Regarding the water reuse there is no water alteration due
to use of water pisciculture on banana components. The water balance of banana FHIA 18
estimated for semiarid region of Piaui Kc of 0,8 and 1,03 for banana (second cycle), for the
vegetative and production phase of banana and for the third cycle received a single value of
0.92 Kc. The water requirement for this region in the 2nd and 3rd cycle was obtained with a
water depth of 1,200 and 1,000 mm per cycle respectively. The efficiency of water reuse was
has a inverse proportion for the irrigation depft, the treatment at 25% showed a 3,16 kg
fraitm"3 of water in 2nd cycle and 4,18 kg fruit.ni3 of water in 3nd cycle. The banana and fish
production consortium in both cycles, considering the highest and lowest market price,
showed a profitability index that ranged from 55.7 to 31.9%
