Résumé:
The com culture (Zea mays L) is a of main source food production. An
alternative to the production system in semiarid, however, the region its
consider with characteristic of drought, a fact that makes great the importance
of to study the correct water application to plants, se that production is
satisfactory. Thus, in order to evaluate the effect of water stress in production
and postharvest quality of sweet com green. To this in experiment was realized,
in Unidade Acadêrnica de Ciências Agrárias, Federal University of Campina
Grande. between the months of November 201 0 to March 201 1 . Using seeds of
sweet com. cultivar BR 400(BT) supersweet, in randomized block design, in
study of ave irrigation, determined for crop evapotranspiration from sweet com
(40, 60, 80, 100' 120% ), with four repetitions and experimental unit consisted of
8 plants. We evaluated the production variables and the physical and chemical
aspecto of the grains; the data were submitted to analysis of variance by 'F
test, and polynomial regression analysis. The more yield was obtained in the
depth than 80% of ETc, which is indicated for the production system of sweet
com in semi-arid. Sweet com produces about 103 g of fruit per plant, the
estimated depth of 101% of ETc, the water deficit does not compromise the
physical characteristics of grains, related to rainfall, and drought did not affect
the chemical characteristics of grains, fact, too, related to rainfall.
