Resumen:
The aim of this study is to make use of a multiobjective analysis technique,
through the PROMETHEE method, as a decision aid to build hydraulic works in the
Gramame river basin in order to increase the water supply. For the analysis, economical,
social and environmental aspects were taken into consideration. Five alternatives and
eighteen criteria were adopted towards the solution of the problem. The works to be carried
out aim at serving the majority of the inhabitants, at a minimal cost, while providing the
least environmental impact. As it is almost impossible to carry out building works which
satisfy all those requirements. The method has shown to be adaquate and provides a
classification of alternatives which conforms to all the criteria by means of hierarchical
levels.
