Résumé:
This study deals with the location and description of several deposits of lateritic soils in the North and Northeast of Brazil. This description refers to its geological, pedological and climatological characteristics.
Several deposits were selected based on a
theoretical study and visits to several selected areas. THE
geological, pedological and climatological description was made
using the DNPM maps and publications (1973,1974,
1975,1976), SUDENE (1972,1974) and ONER (1976,1977).
The results obtained allowed to conclude that the
deposits belong to 14 geological formations, peculiar to
each region with a higher frequency of lateritic soils
originated from the "Itapecuru" and Barreiras "formations (54.03%)
and a predominance of 4btb, 4cth and
4d th (92.7%). It was also concluded that the same type of soil has
to rig various geological formations and various types of
soils have the same geological origin.
