Abstract:
In this research we present the pedagogy of the multiliteracies which consists in a
practice that involves the use of technologies and digital media as tools in Teaching-
Learning process, but above all brings to the classroom the different cultures, values,
beliefs and previous knowledge that each student has. In this perspective we want to
add to the teacher's practices, a way of working that goes beyond the exclusive work
with the textbook, allowing the active participation of the students, besides considering
their experiences, as is the case of the use of the mobile phone as a study tool. The
objective of this research is to reflect on the contributions that multiliteracies can offer
to the teaching of Portuguese Language, through the textual biography genre. For this,
the work is based mainly on the theoretical contributions of: Tfouni (1995), Soares
(2012), Marcuschi (2011), Rojo (2012), Carvalho (2010) and Sousa (2019). As for the
methodology, it is a bibliographical research, descriptive and qualitative character
trying to understand the importance of the multi-elements in the learning processes.
The corpus for analysis was chapter one, of unit seven, about the biography genre,
worked in the textbook Geração Alpha Língua Portuguesa, by Costa and Marchetti -
2018, which aimed to understand how the genre in question is worked. From this
analysis, we present in order to contribute, with the teacher's practice, a proposal of
intervention with the biography genre in the perspective of the multiliteracies.
