Resumo:
To increase water availability to crops and conservation of soil and water
resources in semi arid region has increased research in arder using of cropping
systems under ram water harvesting techniques, and the use of these techniques
can improve the sunflower (He//anfhus arlnuus L.) culture in the semiarid region
Thus, in order to evaluate alternative systems of water harvesting 'fn s/fu' for
sunflower cultivation in semiarid of Paraiba. The experiment was realized in
2011, under field conditions, at the Federal University of Campina Grande.
Campus de Pombal, PB. The experimental design was a randomized block with
four treatments and three techniques, ridges, furrows and basins, and a control
without technique, repeated in six blocks in a total of 24 plots. Each plot
consisted of four rows of six meters spaced in 0.5 m, covering an área of 12 m:,
were used seeds of hybrid cultivars Helium 250 (H250), sunflower. We evaluated
growth variables, the physiological and production, and the data submitted to
analysis of variance by F test. The use of basin increased the infiltration and soil
moisture retention, compared with the control (no techniques). The basin is the
technique that causes more productivity in sunflower crop, this technique can to
be recommended as alternative to optimize production system in semiarid
Paraiba.
