The present work aims to discuss the influence of the Regionalist Novels of the 1930s on contemporary works. For this, we analyze the novel Carcará (1984), the work of the writer Ivan Bichara Sobreira, to find characteristics that bring it closer to the novels of the 1930s. Through a review of Regionalism in Brazilian literature, dealing with the theme under a from a historical perspective and taking into account its transformations over time, we note that a debate is needed on the ways of Regionalism and how it configures itself in current works. The work of the Brazilian writer serves as a basis for our research to discuss the possibilities of a Regionalist Literature in contemporary works.
