Resumo:
Education can be a means to combat the most varied forms of prejudice, demonstrating that it
becomes the result of ignorance and ideological manipulation (BAGNO, 2007). The acquired
knowledge makes students, thinking subjects, more critical and able to interact in the world
and with people. These sabers are broadcast in the classroom, to a large extent, through the
textbook, a vehicle that mediates between students and the curriculum. In this sense, the
present work has the general objective of analyzing how the linguistic variation is approached
in the 6th year elementary school Portuguese language textbook. It is an exciting topic, given
its dimension in the context of teaching the Portuguese language today. The choice of the
theme must be made according to a subject that allows education professionals an opportunity
to reflect on teaching and learn directed to mediation of contents that take into account the
diversity of languages of the language in its most varied applications, considering , the
context of the performance of the speakers. It is a subject that has social significance without
exploring issues related to language acquisition in its practical use. A methodology used in
the construction of this text was a literature review, qualitative, descriptive and analytical in
nature, using a bibliographic search as a basis to collect data from works by authors such as
Bagno (2007), Tardif (2009), Freire (2007), among others. A problem that served as a guiding
axis for this text was to know how it is worked or linguistic prejudice in the textbook of the
6th year of Elementary School II. The thirst for conclusion was clear, from a study, that the
contents brought by the referred enrichment or debate about linguistic prejudice and take into
account the diversity of languages and the multiplicity of social contexts that are stages for the
use of language. There is an awareness of the varied way of speaking due to the breadth of the
country and the consequent linguistic variation for the dissemination of content from the
exploration of works under analysis, which brings up several relevant issues for linguistic
diversity.
