Résumé:
Pumpkins are widely known and cultivated worldwide, especially interspecific hybrid
(Cucurbita máxima x Cucurbita moschata) called type squash tetsukabutto. The aim of this study was to evaluate the yield and quality of hybrid squash Tetsukabuto when subjected to doses of 2,4-D. The experiment was installed on the campus of Pombal, Federal University of Campina Grande during the period February to May 201 3, in a randonaized block design with tour treatments consisting of doses of 2,4-D (90, 180, 270 and 360 mg.L-l) applied flowers with üjve replicates. The characteristics evaluated were number of female flowers per plant, length of flowering, number of fruits per plant, number of fruits per hectare, fluiting index, transverse and longitudinal diameter of the fruir, pulp thickness, soluble solids, fruir mass, production and plant productivity. The doses of 2,4-D did not significantly affect the characteristics, except for the transverse diameter of the fruit. With the increasing leveis of 2,4-D to increase the number of f'mito per plant and fruit weight observed with doses of 1 36.2 and 360.0 mg L-1 2,4-D. The increase in the dose of 90.0 to 156.4 mg L-1 2,4-D cave rise 23.3% in yield. The highest number of fruits per plant led consequently the production of smaller fruits. The Pearson correlation was signiülcant for the number of flowers per plant x number of fruits per plant, indicating that the higher fruit set compared to the increase in fruit mass resulted in major contributions to the formation of crop productivity independent of the dose of2 ,4-D applied.
