Abstract:
SIMILE: a reusable simulator for evaluating the performance of local networks.
With the growing demand for
of Networks
Computer Sites, there has been a greater concern in
evaluate the performance of these networks, This dissertation
presents a Reusable Simulator for Evaluation of
Performance of Local Area Networks, called SIMILE. That
simulator designed for Local Computer Networks with
Media Access Protocols in accordance with IEEE 802 Standard,
also aims to serve as a prototype of simulation of
Local Computer Networks that can be easily
expanded for the study and evaluation of other protocols
of communication. This facility is due to the characteristics
modularity, extensibility and software reuse
provided by the Object Oriented Approach used in the
development of SIMILE.
