Resumo:
The family of Asclepiadaceae Silk Flower has excelled in adapting to semi-arid
and arid regions, developing satisfactorily in degraded sons and sites with low
leveis of rainfall remained green and lush all year round. Aimed to define, based
on the length and width of limbo in vegetative growth phase, a methodology to
estimate leaf área Silk Flower (Calotropis procera). The real leaf área were
tested correlations (AFR) and the sheet length (C) real leaf área (AFR) and
width, AFR and the product of length x width of the sheet, the sheet width and
the product of length x width and length with the product of length x width. 6
plants were collected, and two small, two medium and large 2, with an average
height of 1.47 m where 10% were picked leaves of each plant used in the
analysis, being removed from the top, bottom and middle of the plant, in order
to homogenize the size of the sheets. The results were submitted to regression
analysis, with the equations obtained by Excel software. From a practical point
of view, it is suggested choose the simple linear equation of the product (W x
L).Thus, the estimation of leaf área silk flower, can be made by the model AF =
C x L having obtained a coefficient of determination 0.82, where the width is the
most stable variable to estimate the leaf área. it lacks the insertion of the stem
and thus R2 is greater when correlates W x (W x L).
