Resumo:
This research aimed to verify the way how logistics activities are carried out in a recyclable materials scrap in the city of Campina Grande, PB. Therefore, the data collection was carried out through observation in the area of business operations and through a semi-structured interview with the manager. Our results allow to describe the internal steps that the target company performs and their importance for the maintenance of reverse supply chain, where this company operates. It was found that the main activities developed in Campina are scrap sorting and preparation of waste received to be sent to specific customers. Thus, there is the importance of the activities of this company due to the volume of supplied waste, since this volume enables both the maintenance of recycling processes for which they are destined for and the continuation of production of the recycling companies. Regarding individual collectors and cooperatives, the scrap performs their intermediation with the recycling, as the producer hardly negotiate with small amounts of suppliers. It was also found that the lack of government encouragement in the selective collection of the city reduces the possibility of scrap maintain high stock levels of recyclable waste and takes the target company to have idle capacity storage.
