Resumen:
The process of weed interference in maize caules problems in the development of
the plant, the production process, the quality of the grain and the operationalization of
the harvest. It aimed to to research to evaluate the physical and physiological
characteristics of com seeds, originated from cultures with different forms of weed
control. The material used was the cultivar double hybrid com AG-1051, the semiearly
cycle and high size, produced by Agroceres company. The seeds were sown in
the field in an experimental design of randomized blocks (DBC), with eight treatments
and four replications. The treatments consisted of eight weed control methods:
contrai without control in single rows (1); unsprayed in double rows (2)l integrated
contrai with mulch over chemical control. associated with Atrazine + Soberan
herbicides in single rows (3); integrated control with mulch over chemical contrai.
associated with Atrazine + Soberan herbicides in double rows (4)l Mechanical control
with hoes in single rows (5)l Mechanical contrai with hoes in double rows (6);
chemical control with mixing Atrazine + Soberan herbicides in single rows (7)l
chemical contrai with mixing Atrazine + Soberan herbicides in double rows (8). After
the harvest of com and stored for three months, the seeds were evaluated according
to the following characteristics: purity, moisture content, thousand seed weight,
electrical conductivity, com test, tetrazolium test, germination test, radicle length,
emergency field, infested test and biometric test. The characteristic purity of the
seeds was influenced by control methods, as well as emergency, fresh weight and
dry planta, germination, vigor, seed weight and moisture. The seed size and length of
radicle were influenced by managements isolated unsprayed and chemical weed
contrai. The spacing of 1.20 m had greater contribution to the physical and
physiological seed quality. The electrical conductivity of seeds was more affected by
the plots without contrai. Therefore, the quality of maize seed is affected by weed
contrai methods using the interspecific competition and reduce culture space.
