Food and nutrition education involves changes in eating habits in the medium and long term and are related to representations about food, knowledge, attitudes and values. It is essential that schools promote activities that raise awareness of healthy eating habits such as fish consumption. Fish is a highly nutritious food due to the amount of protein, vitamins and minerals, as well as the important omega-3. Nutrition education in schools is essential to promote healthy habits such as fish consumption. The present work outlined the importance of awareness and promotion of food edu-cation, encouraging the consumption of fish by schoolchildren, in order to stimulate and promote the valorization of fish for health promotion. Activities focused on nutri-tional education were carried out, based on methodologies dynamically transmitting the benefits of the research, involving 32 students from the 2nd year of high school at Felipe Tiago Gomes State High School in the city of Picuí-PB. There were activities such as lectures, lectures, construction of food pyramids and tasting of fish products. The activities carried out provided learning about the importance of fish in food and were considered as a facilitating and efficient way to absorb the subjects addressed by promoting greater interaction between students in the discussions of activities. At the end of the activities it can be highlighted that 93.7% of the students would insert fish or rivals in the food after the awareness activities performed. In this sense, the school is a privileged place to promote the acquisition of healthy eating habits, mak-ing it a favorable environment for the development of actions for health promotion by stimulating the formation of healthy habits such as fish consumption.
