Résumé:
This work was dedicated to the development of a system on top of a relational DBMS, GeRATOM, for the control of data integrity in an open data model (TOM), enabling the processing of predefined implicit integrity rules of the model and of new rules that will be included in the system as the model is modified. The system performs this functionality by specifying ECA rules, which guarantees flexibility in the number of implicit restrictions that can be defined. But, unlike most existing rules systems, which define rules in relation to certain classes of an application, in GeRATOM, it is also possible to specify generic rules associated with the model concepts. With GeRATOM, we were able to add to the DBMS a set of concepts not available in their implementations, increasing the expressiveness of their data models and reducing the difference between the conceptual definition of the applications and their implementations in the DBMS.
