Abstract:
Due to changes in the social environment, environmental, economic and urban, stands out in the construction sector is growing concern about the production practices, to incorporate more efficient means for business management aligned with sustainability issues. This behavior has been increasingly demanded in the current scenario and, especially in this productive sector, since the economic activity in the construction sector provides serious environmental, social and urban planning, such as: use of natural resources, degradation, waste, waste generation, land use for buildings and use of natural spaces and on the other hand, increasing access to housing, quality of life for the population, income generation and employment, among others. Given the importance of these aspects, the research aimed to identify the relevance of a set of sustainability indicators for the Sector of Construction, from the perception of the actors (engineers and architects) sector in João Pessoa-PB. As for the methodology, it is classified as exploratory, quantitative with generations measures, and its technical procedures characterized by a field research applied to the Department of Construction. As a sample, 42 construction companies were selected from a total of 132 companies registered in SindusconJP, however was obtained from 31 construction companies answers. a questionnaire composed of four dimensions was applied: environmental, urban, economic and social and respondents were engineers and architects. The results show that, according to opinion of respondents, the economic dimension was better evaluated (very important), followed by environmental, urbanistic and finally, social, being the latter considered relevant.
