Resumen:
The cytological examination being performed on patients younger than those recommended by the Brazilian Ministry of Health guidelines, increasing the examinations on patients aged 15-19 years. The increasingly early onset of sex life, coupled with the increased incidence and prevalence rates of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), lights the warning signal for health professionals. Therefore, the objectives of this study was to identify the most frequent injuries and atypias according to age group. This is a bibliographic review, integrative type. The sample consisted of 60 articles from which 14 were selected, from 2006 to 2019. It was observed that the prevalence of cases of injuries was higher in the adult age group, where the most frequent injuries, regardless of age group were atypias of. undetermined significance (ASCUS) and grade I cervical neoplasia (CIN I). The highest prevalence of cases was also observed in the Southeast region of the country. Regarding the presence of HPV, the authors make their concomitant correlation with CIN I, where when presenting the diagnosis for CIN I, there is also the diagnosis for HPV. It is of utmost importance to raise the general public's awareness of the need for screening as early as possible. In addition to the program's investment in areas where it is not so strengthened, as well as the inclusion of young adolescents in the target audience.
