Resumo:
The multi-grid method is a numerical strategy for solving continuous problems such as integral and partial differential equations and minimization problems. In this work we emphasize mainly the numerical solution of problems of partial differential equations. The study is directed to the numerical solution of Poisson's equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The work is an attempt to compile the practical and theoretical knowledge of the area. Two algorithms are studied in detail, with different forms of relaxation. The behavior of errors in the numerical solution of Poisson's equations provided by these algorithms is also considered.
