Resumen:
The National Policy for Integral Attention to Men's Health was launched in 2009 in order to maximize the life expectancy of the male population. Men have greater difficulties in expressing their health needs, evidenced by the fact that they seek health services less than women. Nursing is a profession that encompasses various attributions and competencies in health services, including direct nursing care, including planning, managing, coordinating, executing and evaluating the Family Health Strategy. This paper aims to summarize what has been published about the National Policy for Integral Attention to Men's Health in the Family Health Strategy and the challenges and potentialities for its implementation. Methodologically it was built by the integrative literature review. The studies selected for this review were identified by searching the Virtual Health Library (VHL) with filtering in the Latin American Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Nursing Databases (BDENF), as well as Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) through the descriptors “Men's Health”, “Family Health Strategy” and “Health Policy”. At the intersection of the descriptors, 884 articles were identified, 82 articles were selected, of these, 23 were chosen for full reading. 9 were included in this study. The results showed that there are some obstacles to the consolidation of the National Policy of Integral Attention to Men's Health in the Family Health Strategy, among them, the lack of knowledge about the policy by health professionals. Thus, it is necessary to have training and sensitization with these professionals about the relevance of the policy and its objectives, because the lack of training hinders the actions and offers granted by the teams.
