Abstract:
This study aims to give voice to women victims of obstetric violence in Paraíba curimataú. In order to achieve this goal we draw the following guiding question: How was your experience of childbirth and postpartum with emphasis on obstetric violence? It also aims to know and analyze episodes of obstetric violence, to evaluate women's knowledge on the subject and to identify the types of obstetric violence suffered by the study participants. This study has a quantitative and qualitative exploratory-descriptive approach. The research was carried out in the city of Barra de Santa Rosa, Paraíba, located in the Western Curimataú Paraibano microregion in Basic Family Health Units (UBSF's) in the urban area. The results showed the most frequent violence among women in the study. The questions performed on the women and their respective reports were ordered in charts. We understand that the research contributed to the enrichment of the literature on the subject and points to the need for further studies to broaden the debate on this very relevant theme, a public health problem that urges its discussion with the sanitary and legal field.
