Resumo:
With the purpose of analyzing, the organizational environment in a context of change and its influence on the activity of employees of an organization in the automotive industry located in Campina Grande - PB, this study was the theoretical support of the themes of organizational Change and Activity Ergonomics. Initially, it was sought the understanding of organizational change, the reasons for its implantation, its importance, goals and difficulties; afterwards, the transformations in the working world; and lastly, the Activity Ergonomics approach, which addresses the effects of people’s actions in the adjustment between prescribed work and real work. It was evaluated the perception of workers on the conditions and the context of organizational work, the perception of workers as to the organizational change occurred; verified the organization of work activity; as workers handle unforeseen events and stressful situations, and identified the meaning of the work for these workers. The research is characterized as a case study in an organization of the automotive branch, which has gone through changes derived from the implantation of new information systems. For the data collection, it was applied 21 questionnaires with questions in a Likert type scale, and open questions. The methodological triangulation was opted for the data analysis. The descriptive statistics was used for the quantitative data and the content analysis technique was used for the qualitative data. The study has shown good working conditions of extrinsic nature, but deficiencies in intrinsic aspects of workers; the organization has a bureaucratic and strict structure. The work routine has suffered many alterations; and problems were diagnosed related to the change of system, which influenced in the activity of workers, increasing their mental effort for the execution of their tasks. It was observed that workers handle unforeseen events well and that their health has not been directly affected by the changes. It was identified predominantly lack of meaning at work, which can influence the performance of the employee and the achievement of organizational objectives.
