Resumo:
The revolution brought about by the globalization process for organizations, among other charges, the need for systemic management. This is due to the fact that the current reality, marks the presence of material resources increasingly equitable in different companies in the same industry. Thus, support a systemic management in much sectors, and in particular those considered basic for businesses, can impact on their survival. In this sense, this research is founded on the principles of lean logistics. Lean logistics arises from the development of the Toyota production system as an alternative for companies and focuses primarily on determining the real value of goods and services, the end user point of view, reducing waste and eliminating unnecessary processes. From this concept this research moves towards diagnose the current situation and from the received data to propose the application of Lean Logistics in the activities of a distribution center of construction and electrical materials in the City of Esperança-PB. For this, some methodological parts were used as documentary research, both files as the company's software, authors review the topics of lean manufacturing, lean logistics and logistics and direct observation of the daily routine as are the processes in the company studied . The measured results referred the need for improvement in the company under study. Then, by applying the principles of lean logistics indicated a proposed change, from the drafting of a new layout of the warehouse, new provision of goods by the stock and new processes for order picking and shipping, aimed at improving logistics activities carried out in sectors such as goods receipt, order picking, warehouse layout and external transport.
