Continuing Education for Nursing Professionals in Primary Health Care is something that needs to be stimulated by the fact that it is noticeable the difficulty that professionals have in the care of patients with skin lesions, whether acute or chronic, due to the majority not. have had contact with any specific discipline of wound evaluation and treatment during graduation. Thus, this research aimed to implement an educational proposal for nursing professionals in the care of patients with wounds in primary health care units of Nova Floresta, Paraíba, Brazil. Materials and methods: this is an intervention research, with a qualitative approach, conducted with nursing professionals in five Basic Health Units, located in Nova Floresta-PB. Data collection occurred through individual interviews, guided by a semi-structured instrument in order to identify the difficulties and needs of nursing professionals regarding the care of patients with skin lesions. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed using Bardin's content analysis and the research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee under CAAE No. 10207319.7.0000.5182. Results: Theoretical-practical workshops for the evaluation and treatment of wounds were proposed based on the report of nursing professionals, as to the lack of updates, lack of inputs and material resources that imply care for patients with wounds, within the scope of care. primary to health. These workshops were important because they addressed the needs of the nursing professionals who participated in order to improve the care offered to patients treated at the service that have skin lesions. Conclusion: It is necessary that nurses and nursing technicians are always training, seeking new ways of evaluation and care for patients with skin lesions.
