Abstract:
The impacts to the environment have several sources and one of them are the companies, that
through their productive processes extract resources and release residues in the environment.
Through this perception, corporate environmental management has an increasingly higher
importance within organizations that seek to meet environmental legislation, requirements of
stakeholders and improve their image before society. In order to do so, the tool (P + L) can
help them achieve environmental objectives and specifically in the construction sector, which
impacts society in various ways from its supply chain to post-construction. In view of this
reality, the objective of this study was to evaluate the solid waste prevention and treatment
actions carried out in a Civil Construction project, in Campina Grande, in the light of Cleaner
Production (P + L). Regarding the theoretical basis, the study of Gasi and Ferreira (2006) was
used to analyze the company's environmental priorities and the CNTL / SENAI (2007) model
to analyze the level of application of the Clean + Production project. Regarding the
methodology, the research is characterized as a case study and descriptive. Being the
company chosen in an intentional way, by type and accessibility. In relation to the results
obtained it was verified that the actions carried out in the project are between second
(minimize waste) and third priorities (internal recycling: reuse) of the tool and that the first
priority of not generating (eliminating waste) is still not being met. It was also observed that
the level of implantation of the Production + Clean actions in this enterprise is more focused
on the reduction of waste at source than measures of End of Tube, being thus close to the
main objective of the tool that is the non-generation of waste . Among the suggestions for
improvement it was proposed that the company apply the tool (P + L) in the enterprise for
improvements of the productive processes with respect to the generation of waste.
