Resumo:
The Quality of Work Life has become a comprehensive term because the various studies
carried out in the different fields of knowledge also have a high subjectivity due to its relation
to the extrinsic and intrinsic aspects of the individual. Well planned QWL can be crucial in
employee well-being and to provide quality service. The present study aimed to analyze the
quality of life at work in the perception of the Baby Boomer generations, X and Y, in the
Jaçanã/RN City Hall. For its elaboration a quantitative approach and a descriptive and
exploratory research model were used. The data were collected through the application of a
questionnaire adapted from the model with eight dimensions proposed by Freitas and Souza
(2009), where they were applied to 57 contributors from the City Hall and the data were
analyzed through the mean as a statistical tool. The analysis of the dimensions showed a
disagreement between the generations, revealing higher levels of dissatisfaction of the Baby
Boomer generation with the work. Already the generations X and Y revealed levels of
satisfaction of neutral to satisfied with the QWL. And all generations consider the proposed
aspects as important for the execution of the work in the mold of a good QWL. The analysis of the overall results showed that there is a divergence between what each generation
considers important and what is satisfied, making evident the need for work adequacy so that
workers can achieve a higher level of QWL.
