Abstract:
Active molecules can have two routes, either synthetic or natural, both directed to the production of drugs, which in face of different pathologies and resistance of microorganisms need innovations. With organic and medicinal chemistry, a large scale of safe chemical, physicochemical, pharmacological and toxicological production has been provided for drugs from both natural and synthetic sources. The latter has a promising class of organic compounds, heterocycles, especially those with oxadiazolic nuclei, which have applications in the materials industry, as well as medicinal chemistry, due to their anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antifungal properties, among others. In this context, in order to provide a quick, easy and economical synthesis, 2- (3-phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl) methoxy) benzoic acid was synthesized in microwave irradiation. green chemistry, besides synthesis, the applicability of the biological evaluation was selected, and investments in this molecule were validated, observing the viability of the toxicity test against Artemia salina Leach, a microcustace, capable of determining the LC50. Thus it was possible to synthesize the molecule in a time of 2 min with considerable yield of 60%, proving an effective method. However, the test for its toxicity became unfeasible, due to its low solubility in basic saline solution, a necessary medium for Artemias life, requiring further studies on the substance PKa and log P. Considering the different applicability in materials and pharmacological activities of oxadiazolic studies are open, given the advantage of synthesis, other possible areas of study and possible tests for fungicidal activity.
