Given the importance of water resources for the maintenance of life and human activities, it is essential to promote the protection of the same through monitoring and evaluation of its quality, setting goals for the basin and controlling pollutant loads it launched. Are large and numerous disturbances caused by human activities that affect aquatic ecosystems. The maintenance of water quality should be maintained respecting the self-purification capacity of each water body, which study of this capability is an important element in the management of water pollution control. The natural phenomenon of self-purification is the transformation of organic compounds in inert substances over time and space, that the ecological point of view, does not cause harm to aquatic ecosystems. Much of this natural phenomenon can be represented by means of mathematical models, these simulation models of water quality are useful tools in the management of water resources, especially when we need to represent the changes imposed by man in natural aquatic systems. Utilizing the sources of point source pollution of River Basin Gramame, this paper presents the application of a model of water quality in the basin, considering the parameters of DO and BOD, and flow calculation unavailable due to BOD, with a view to assisting the management of effluent discharge.
