Resumen:
Brazil is one of the largest producers and exporters of pork in the world. In 2017 Brazilian pig production produced about 3.75 million tons. This earned us the position of 4th largest producer and export of pork in the world. But the large amount of manure produced by these animals started to raise the attention of environmental agencies, because pig farming is a highly polluting activity of the environment. This research is a qualitative and quantitative work that aimed to collect data on farmers who have properties in the Flores de Cima Farm, Montevideo, Sítio Novo, Evaristo, Gamelas and Salamanta, in Nova Floresta-PB, and use swine manure. in their properties. The research was developed from the concern about the evils caused, mainly to the environment, by the poor waste disposal. Through this research, it was possible to answer 27 producers' doubts about the subject, thus spreading the knowledge of proper disposal practices. It was sought, through semi-structured questionnaire to raise the percentage of farmers who make the appropriate reuse of this material. It can be concluded that adequate reuse of swine manure is considered important by more than sixty percent (60%) of the municipality's producers and that more than ninety percent (90%) of them are interested in knowing more about proper reuse; an expressive number. For those who practice reuse, cost benefit, practicality and care for the environment were cited as main advantages. Another point raised was that information on appropriate forms of reuse was more widespread among producers with more education, however, practiced by those with less education. It was clear during the research that there is a need for more work on this subject, especially in the state of Paraíba. As for research conducted at CES, this is the first to raise this discussion.
