Abstract:
Literacy, currently and especially in public schools, is a serious problem. Children go from 02 (two) to 03 (three) years to be literate. Despite this slowness it is still not efficient. The constructivist line of literacy proposes a way to solve this problem. This line of work is characterized by the creation of an environment rich in reading and writing materials and acts, similar to the environment experienced by middle and upper class children. It proposes that the student actively participate in the literacy process, creating his own hypotheses of rules building his knowledge. The literacy teacher offers the student conflicting stimuli and situation so that he can discover for himself the process of writing and reading. Based on this, affirmations a work proposal was made in a constructivist line to put it into practice, in a literacy class in a private school in this city. The purpose of this work proposal is to verify the viability and efficiency of literacy in a constructive way. The practice consisted of interaction with the school, understanding with administrative technical staff and teachers, contact with the class, characterization of students and practical moments in the classroom.
