Abstract:
Knowledge about the water quality of a reservoir is of fundamental importance for the planning and management of water resources of a region, since they are integral units of watersheds with strategic value, especially to the semiarid region. The referent study aimed to realize the limnological monitoring at various points Reservoir Cochos the municipality of Igaracy-PB, located in Basin River Piancó-Piranhas-Açu in order to characterize its waters, the physical, chemical and microbiological aspects of transformation as indicators of water quality. 6 measurement campaigns were carried out in the period Nov / Jul 2013/2014, involving the determination of the concentrations of some water quality parameters: temperature, color, turbidity, transparency, chlorides, total hardness, DO, BOD5, EC, TDS, pH, K, Na, Ca2+, Mg2+, N, CT, CTT, E.Coli, EIT and RAS following methodological recommendations of the APHA, Standard Methods, EMBRAPA and SILVA. The results showed strong seasonal influence on most of the parameters analyzed, DO, EC, P and Mg levels exceeded acceptable limits. In health terms, the CT and CTT group had more than 1600 MPN / 100ml levels, the presence of E.Coli bacteria was confirmed in 57.5% of samples, mean values of RAS ranged around 0.0085. It was found that the water in the reservoir was classified with respect to C1S1 irrigation waters, and the trophic status of the reservoir was ranked ultraoligotrófico in sanitary terms emphasizes greater attention to high levels of coliforms, indices that shows the release of cargo domestic organic, with certain restrictions on the uses of water.
