Resumo:
The equations of intense rains are necessary for safety in project preparation and design of hydraulic structures. The aim of this study was to determine the equations of rainfall for locations of Piranhas river basin. It was used, then the methodology of desegregation of rain 24 h and used - if rainfall data from 31 stations available in the database of the National Water Agency and Executive Agency for Water Resources Management of Paraíba. The series of annual extreme daily data were properly adjusted by the GEV distribution and moments LH. The equations of heavy rains showed good fit, with correlation coefficients greater than 0.993 for all locations studied. The adjusted parameters showed low variability resulting in small differences in the amounts of heavy rainfall expected for the different locations.
