Resumo:
The river basin Piranhas-Açu, inserted in the territory of the states of Rio Grande do Norte and Paraiba, consists of seven sub-basins: Piancó, Peixe, Alto Piranhas, Médio Piranhas , Espinharas, Seridó and Baixo Piranhas. The first three sub-basins are fully inserted in the semiarid region of Paraiba. The river basin is the Piancó reservation system Coremas Mother `d water with capacity to store1.4 billion m3 of water, which ensures the perpetuation of that tax. The objective of this study was monitored flow and physic-chemical parameters of water: dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, water temperature, total phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium and total solids. It was also analyzed the environmental conditions of the river and its environment in relations the parameters studied. Furthermore, it has been found water quality with respect to the risk of salinity and sodicity with use of irrigation. The result of the physical-chemical analyzes indicated by the OD values that there was some degree of degradation of water quality. The values of sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus corroborate the influence of CE and suffer flow variation, showing moderate salinity and low sodium adsorption ratio being classified C2-S1. Since the pH varied independently offlow in the range of neutrality.
