Résumé:
This paper presents a study to environmental impacts assessment caused by the "dumpsite" of the city of Pombal-PB. The research was based on field visits, literature searches, visits to municipal agencies, use of digital photographs and satellite images and environmental impact assessment methods. The cataloging of the human actions of the activity was based on literature searches and field visits. A simplified environmental diagnosis was developed through field visits, literature searches and use of photo documentation. For identification and environmental impacts assessments, the Ad Hoc, Check List, Interaction Matrix and Impact Index methods were used. Control measures and environmental plans and programs have been proposed based on research in the scientific and technical literature. According to the results, all the environmental factors of the study area are affected and most of them, degraded, mainly the soil, air and the landscape. The operation phase was the one that showed the highest amount of negative environmental impacts, followed by the implantation phase, while the phases of deactivation and closure had the most positive impact. Environmental control measures of mitigation and compensation type were proposed, in order to mitigate impacts and contribute to the deactivation and closure of the "dumpsite”. Some environmental plans and programs were also proposed for the monitoring of the identified impacts and environmental control measures.
