Résumé:
This study of conclusion of course with the theme the professional exercise of social service
in the UFCG: A focus on higher education analyzes the way as is executed the policy of
student assistance in the CCTA, in the perception of the social worker of this institution. We
seek to identify the main demands that permeate the sector of social service this academic
unit, maintaining a relationship with the main challenges for the to do professional of social
service in the higher education, signaling the impacts suffered through the current
conjuncture. The interest in the subject was aroused during our restlessness arising from our
experience, as a trainee of that institution. The research was of an exploratory character of
fundamentally qualitative nature. The subject of our research corresponds to the social worker
inserted in the policy of student assistance, in the campus of Pombal. The subject of our

campus of Pombal. The collect of data was processed through of an interview semi- structured
and the data collected were carefully transcribed. The method of analysis used in the act of
research was the critic-dialectic, for interpreting reality from the totality. The results of our
research bring revealing facts about the student assistance in the CCTA, under the dictates of
the current conjuncture, being thus, this writing is of relevant importance for the students,
professionals and other readers involved in the thematic of student assistance.
