This study aimed to analyze the influence of La Niña events on the rainfall in different municipalities of the backlands of Paraiba. We used data of precipitation of 19 cities in the backlands of Paraiba the period from 1994 to 2015. In determining the rainy seasons we used the mean and standard deviation of 22 years of data. We analyzed the fluctuations in the rainy season precipitation field using extreme La Niña events and finally the analysis of the correlation between precipitation in the rainy season with the TSM Equatorial Pacific Ocean, statistical significance was evaluated by Student's t test. The main results showed that the rainy season in most municipalities of Paraiba backlands, lasts five months (Jan / Feb / Mar / Apr / may). There are positive and negative fluctuations in the rainy season compared to expected in the years of occurrence of La Niña. Not always in La Niña years the rains are above normal. The rainy season of the Paraíba outback stations was better correlated areas of the Niño 1 + 2.
