Mapeamento de áreas susceptíveis ao estresse hídrico: uma aplicação dos sistemas de indicadores de vulnerabilidade nos territórios do Vale do Piancó e Médio Piranhas.

Abstract

The Northeast region is characterized by presenting a semiarid climate in which the occurrence of rain is irregular, making is propitious area to dry. In some states, as is the case of Paraiba, water reservoirs are located with the level of water in the dead volume, placing some municipalities in the state of emergency. The use of tools that can assist in the process of construction of knowledge and the information about the drought is fundamental and facilitates decision-making. The SIGs has been very employed by governmental bodies, private entities and non-governmental organizations, with the aim, primarily, to integrate spatial data and non-spatial, in its projects and studies related to the environment. The general objective of this work is the construction of a System of Vulnerability Indicators that will assist in the process of building the information and knowledge about the areas susceptible to water stress in the territories of Vale do Piancó and Mean Piranhas in the semi-arid region of paraiba.
