Resumo:
The autodepurativa capacity of a river is directly related to the concentration of dissolved oxygen in it. To establish the effectiveness of this mechanism is necessary to know the values of the deoxygenation coefficient (K1) and superficial reaeration (K2) of the water body. This study aimed to quantify these coefficients in a stretch of Piancó-Piranhas river in order to analyze the depuration of it, since this is the subject of the release of wastewater in the city of Pombal-PB, in which the passage is inserted. For this sample were conducted campaigns for the periods from January to April 2016, in order to determine values of dissolved oxygen, temperature, DBO9, flow and speed. To determine the K2 was used the equation of O'Connor and Dobbins, and to determine K1 was used nonlinear statistical method through the Solver tool, Excel. The values for the coefficients confirm the efficiency of the process autodepurativo the studied stretch.
