The methodology consisted of dividing the city of Coremas-PB in sectors formed by economic classes, three sectors were chosen in order to represent each class, it held that the application of questionnaires and interviews in such sectors. The results make it clear that the purchasing power can mitigate the impacts caused by the lack of treatment of the water supply, but the home treatments are disseminated to all people and all are aware of the importance of proper sanitation. To realize that public health policies are unsatisfactory in relation to the health indices of the city, the dumping of domestic sewage in areas near the dam raises concern about the quality of the reserved water.
